Grantfin
Grantfin was founded in 2022 by Tom Grant and Isabela Bagi to bring traditional investment strategies to the crypto world. We are focused on working with asset managers and investment managers to bring an institution-style approach for allocating capital to the emerging asset class. Grantfin advises asset managers on investing in both pooled asset funds as well as investors managing crypto assets in a non-custodial way, offering best practices for key management and asset security.
In addition, Grantfin runs a proprietary absolute return strategy, holding crypto assets in DeFi liquidity pools. This strategy is currently available through a smart contract, but will be available in a fund structure in the future.
Why should investors hold an allocation to crypto?
Since the launch of the Bitcoin Whitepaper, investors have been split between the skeptics and the crypto investors. Some countries like El Salvador have made Bitcoin legal tender, while others have banned it. The subsequent launch of the Ethereum Blockchain then propelled the smart contract concept to take off. Ethereum and the other chains that are EVM compatible now offer thousands of applications where the smart contract lives on the blockchain, immutable and distributed. In recent years, the concept of tokenization has been a buzzword for institutions, where real world assets are being tokenized and then purchased on-chain.
All of this means that finance is changing rapidly and Grantfin is here to advise asset managers on portfolio construction, risk management and yield optimization. Understanding the risk and reward of liquidity pools, liquid staking and tokenized treasuries is complex and dynamic. Grantfin has deep experience in these areas and works closely with asset managers to keep them updated to ensure portfolio allocations are managed to a firm’s risk and return needs..
